When the temperatures drop and the rain never seems to end, it can be tempting to hide beneath a duvet-style coat and give up on style altogether, but you don’t have to. This selection of winter work wear shows that warmth and comfort can still look sophisticated and stylish.

Instead of opting for one mammoth coat, a combination of layers can not only look more refined it is more likely to keep you warm. Layering also gives you the option to get more creative. Choose deeper shades of your most suited colours such as crimson, navy or plum, these are warmer tones better suited to working environments than the garish royal blues and siren reds of ski gear.

In a bid to keep warm, winter work wear can become quite sloppy, but this can be avoided by looking at closer, thicker weaves in structured items. A fitted turtle-neck under a tailored jacket, or wool tights with a well-cut tweed skirt, for example.

Don’t forget accessories. A brightly colour silk scarf or a slick structured work bag can provide that extra stylistic element to bring your outfit together.
